The claim of Easter is that we live in a world where a resurrection has happened. If true, this is the most important fact of history for all people everywhere, and it changes our understanding of the world and what’s going on in it. As a church, we believe the claim that Jesus was raised from the dead, and we understand faith to include more than intellectual assent.
The Bible understands faith to include aligning one’s life to one’s change in thinking about the world. As we come to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, our daily lives will begin to change. This is the theme of the book of James. Real faith in Jesus will be seen working itself out in real life. Faith in Jesus is faith that works.
This Sunday we begin an eight-week series in the book of James titled Faith that Works. We will look at James 1:1-18 in a message titled The Challenges of Faith.
