Student ministries at Fifth consists of middle and high school students living life together with one common goal: to love Jesus and follow his footsteps as his disciples. All students are welcome to student ministries gatherings, whether they know Jesus or are just curious about what faith in Jesus looks like.
Any student that comes to a gathering is welcomed by an adult leader as well as other students. Intergenerational relationships are a high priority, so any student that is present within a student ministries gathering will be connected with an adult leader who loves Jesus. Adult leaders are also encouraged to see the students in their own spaces (sports, plays, competitions, etc.) so that young people can recognize that following Jesus happens throughout all of life.
Throughout the school year, there is a weekly gathering called Large Group that meets in the Fifth Lobby from 6-8 PM. Large Group consists of sharing a meal together, participating in a few games, hearing a teaching about Jesus, and engaging the teaching through discussion and prayer in a small group setting. Students are encouraged to attend retreats and trips in order to gain an expansive view of God’s love and presence in the world. Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to experience three kinds of relationships that Jesus had with others during his first time on earth. Students will engage in an upward relationship with the Father through prayer and reading scripture. Students will experience fellowship inwardly with other believers. Lastly, students will have an outward focus through engaging those that don’t have a relationship with Jesus.
Let’s love God, love others, and make disciples together!
