College Care Packages
The Women’s Ministry plans to shower love on our college students each year by sending them a box filled with goodies or a gift card. This includes students who live at home. We would also like to include handwritten notes for each of them. We need your help to make this possible! Please take time to write notes of encouragement to as many students as you like and return them to the basket in the lobby by Sunday, Oct. 13.
You can also help by donating some items we include in the boxes and monetary contributions for the gift cards. You will find a sign-up HERE or there will be sheets in the lobby for items to donate. A blue barrel will be available near the office in which to place your item(s) no later than Sunday, Oct. 13. Monetary donations can be given electronically HERE or to either Char Bulthuis, Lori Kane, Dianna VanProoyen, Pat Haines, or Kristeen Ralston.
Boxes will be assembled on Monday, October 21 at 6:00 PM. All are welcome to come and help!
Here is a testimonial from a previous college student:
“I remember how shocked, excited, and touched I was when I got my first care package my freshman year. There’s so much you’re learning and experiencing, and it was comforting to have a bit of home sent to you in a box that was packed with goodies and love. Certainly, college students appreciate any food and snacks, but it was that paired with the thoughtful letters that made it so special. I wanted to let you know how touched I was knowing I had the prayers and support from my Fifth Church family. The care packages, no matter the size or contents were comforting and uplifting; a good reminder that God has provided people in my life who care and are happy to help should I ever need it.”
