We continue our fall series in 1 Corinthians titled “United in Grace.” The Apostle Paul wrote to a congregation divided into factions focused more on human leaders than God. Paul wrote to correct the church by reminding them that all Christians are united in the grace we’ve received from God through Jesus. If human beings are to come to understand God’s wisdom, it will be because God reveals it to us, not because we figured it out on our own. The Holy Spirit reveals to us the things of God “so that we may understand what God has freely given us” (1 Corinthians 2:12).
