We conclude our Lenten series titled, Words from the Cross. We look this weekend at the fifth word, “I thirst.” In speaking these words, we see that Jesus was fully human, experiencing physical thirst as we do. And we see his thirst for God. As a good Jew, Jesus was likely praying through the Psalms. He very well might have been praying Psalm 42, which begins with “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.” We’ll explore what this meant for Jesus and what it means for us today.
We are meeting in person for worship at 10:00 AM, and you are welcome to visit.
